The artist Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian painter, recognized as one of the pioneers of abstract art. He was born in Moscow in 1866. He initially studied law and economics but never completed his degree. In 1896, he moved to Germany and decided to dedicate himself to painting. He studied at the private art school of Anton Ažbe and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1911, he founded the Blue Rider group, which brought together expressionist artists. The name was derived from the title of an almanac published by Kandinsky and Franz Marc. The Blue Rider group aimed to change views on art and free it from the conservative tradition of academic painting. Over time, artists such as Paul Klee, August Macke, and Arnold Schönberg joined the group.
